Positioned between the prestigious Thornybush and Timbavati Private Game Reserves, Sandringham is centred around the winding Timbavati River and enjoys breathtaking views of the Drakensberg Mountains. As the newest addition to the Sabi Sabi Collection, the reserve showcases a remarkable conservation success story, transforming former hunting land into a thriving wildlife sanctuary dedicated to ecological restoration and regenerative tourism.

Guests can choose between two distinct luxury experiences. N'weti Camp offers an exclusive adults-only, couples retreat with elevated views across the bushveld, while Shisaka Camp provides a more intimate riverside setting ideal for either couples or families. Together, they deliver exceptional accommodation, outstanding guiding, and unforgettable wildlife encounters in one of South Africa's premier safari destinations.

N’weti Camp
The name ‘N’weti’, refers to the silhouette of the Drakensberg mountains seen on a moonlit night. It captures the stark beauty of this majestic mountain range, inspiring a place where adventure and the luxury of modern safaris converge.
N’weti Camp's 6 well-appointed luxury suites are all perched on a hill and offer modern-day safari accommodation under a canvas roof alongside the water's edge. Each of the suites reflect the tones and textures of the surrounding wilderness, creating a tactile and grounded atmosphere.

Shisaka Camp
Shisaka (meaning 'nest' in Tsonga) Camp is aptly named after the nest-like structures (salas) situated on the roofs of the suites. Shisaka Camp's 6 luxury suites and 2 villas are positioned in a Tamboti thicket along the water's edge. The elegant, semi-circular suites are designed to blend in with the natural surroundings while maximising the views of the river.

The Sandringham Game Reserve Safari Experience
Due to the dark history of the reserve, Sandringham required careful management and rehabilitation. For the past few years, the Sabi Sabi teams have been slowly building mutual trust with the animals, helping them to re-learn that human presence no longer means danger.

As we continue our efforts to build trust with the wildlife, guests can expect brief sightings, but more detailed game drives, focusing holistically on all elements of the environment. Walking safaris and birding safaris will be the star of the show at Sandringham, as the ample sources of water and varied vegetation attract numerous bird species, best seen while on foot.
