Explore iconic destinations

The beauty of Africa is waiting for you. From the savannahs of the Serengeti to the wetlands of the okavango Delta, there’s a perfect safari destination for everyone. Below, we’ve highlighted some key spots you shouldn’t miss.

1. Best Time to Go on Safari

Africa’s safari seasons are generally divided into two:

Dry Season (June - October)

This is the most popular time to go on safari — and for good reason. With less rain, animals gather around water sources like rivers and waterholes, making them much easier to see. The bush is thinner, so spotting wildlife is more straightforward (think lions lounging in the sun or elephants coming down to drink). It’s also cooler and less humid — ideal for game drives.

Best for: First-time safari goers, photographers, and those wanting the highest chance of big game sightings (like the Big 5).

Green Season (November - April)

Also known as the “Emerald” or “Secret” season, this is when Africa’s landscapes burst into colour after the first rains. It’s lush, dramatic, and full of new life – many animals give birth during this time, and the birdlife is spectacular. There are fewer tourists, so you’ll often have the bush to yourself.

Best for: Travellers who love dramatic scenery, don’t mind the occasional shower, and want great value for money.

Note: Some safari lodges or camps close during the peak rainy months (especially January–March), so availability may be limited in certain regions.

2. Where to Stay

From five-star lodges to tented camps under the stars, your choice of accommodation can shape your entire safari experience.
