Chikunto Safari Lodge, South Luangwa, Zambia
Enjoy a unique African getaway at Chikunto Safari Lodge. Located within the South Luangwa National Park less than an hour's drive from the National Park's Mfuwe gate. Flanked by rolling plains, plateaus, river banks and miombo vegetation our lodge is located in an area of distinctive natural beauty.
Chikunto Safari Lodge is a superb new boutique luxury Lodge located on an amazing site within the world-renowned South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Itself recognised as one of Africa's premier National Parks and has been described by many as the 'real Africa'. Known as the 'Valley of the Leopard' and famous for its high density of game and the absence of high volume game-viewing traffic it is a huge bonus to actually be based inside the Park itself. Open 15 February to 15 November.
Day 1
- On arrival at Lusaka, you will be met by a representative of Proflight who will transfer you on a light aircraft flight to Mfuwe Airport (1hr 10-minute flight).
- Upon arrival at Mfuwe Airstrip, you will be transferred by road to Chikunto Safari Lodge (45-minute drive).
- After check-in, you will spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2
Your days will be spent at leisure exploring South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Typical Day on Safari (timings may slightly vary)
- 5:00 am - Wake up call
- 5:30 am - Tea, coffee, biscuits and your morning activities begin
- During your morning Safari you stop in the bush for coffee, tea, hot chocolate & snacks
- 8:30 am - Return from your Safari for breakfast
- After breakfast your day will be at leisure for relaxing, swimming, bush walks, or other activities of a personal preference
- 1:00 pm - Lunch is served
- 4:00 pm - Afternoon Tea
- 4:30 pm - You will depart on your afternoon activity
- During your afternoon Safari you will stop in the bush for Sundowner drinks
- 7:30 pm - Return from your Safari, dinner is served
- Enjoy a nightcap & chat around the fire before retiring

Day 3
Your days will be spent at leisure exploring South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

- After your morning Safari activity and breakfast, you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport in sufficient time to board your onward light aircraft flight to Lusaka.
- On arrival in Lusaka you will connect with your onward flight.
